When you make it a game, it makes it easier for the student to retain the information and recall it at a later date. Of course, the added benefit of making a lesson fun is the fact that the student is more likely to pay attention to the next one as well.

You want to make these strategies for improving visual memory in students fun so that they’ll look forward to learning and they will even compete with each other to increase their odds of grasping the information even more. Make it a game and they will look forward to it each and every time and pretty soon they’ll remember everything you ask them to.

Using Picture Games

The picture game is one way that you can help to improve the visual memory of a student.

The game involves a simple picture. Choose one that has both foreground and background elements. Make sure to start out with simple pictures before moving on to ones that are more complex since you will be asking the students to recall the images on the picture. Next, hide the picture and ask the student to recall as much information about the objects in the picture and ask specific questions such as colors and sizes as well as locations. Then increase the difficulty as each session or level is massed.

This game will make students excited to memorize the details in the pictures, which will improve their visual memory skills.

Rewards

One of the best ways to improve visual memory in students is to use rewards for those who get all the details right. These rewards don’t have to be much (a star or two in the front of the room by the student’s name is a good idea), but the idea is to get students to really strive to want to remember more and more, so that they enhance their memories and therefore improve their learning skills in general.

It does not have to be anything big. In fact, rewards can be something as small as a sticker next to their name. Increase the level or type of reward based on how much they get right or how difficult it is. It is important to motivate students to want to participate in these activities. It is a well known fact that before any type of fitness training it is necessary to carry out some simple warm up moves so there is less chance of injury. But to help further with your workout there are some other things you may wish to do to make it more enjoyable.

Many people consider it unnecessary but people who do not perform stretching movements before and after a workout are more likely to hurt themselves. Almost everyone knows that stretching before workout prevents injuries, but only a few people know that stretching after workout, when muscles are still warm, can increase flexibility.

Although a twenty second stretch is sufficient before a routine, if this increased to a minute per movement there is a considerable increase in the flexibility of the muscles and limbs. Do not go into a stretching position then immediately return to the relaxed position; and, do it repeatedly which is more appropriately termed bouncing while in a position.

Do not jump from an easy stretching exercise to a hard one, but complete the easiest first and do the hardest last as by this time most of your muscles will be warm and it will make the difficult exercise easier.

For some people, even if they have strong bodies, they tend to neglect the neck when working out because stretching the neck muscles can be as simple as placing the palm of one’s hand against the front of the head and pushing it; then, do the same to the sides and the back of the head. It is always a good idea to continue with this stretching at certain points in the fitness training workout particularly if a difficult exercise is about to be performed as it will help make the routine easier.

Never try to compete with the abilities of others as this is a sure way to injure yourself; even if not at the time, you will almost certainly feel it later when you body has cooled down. There is no set standard you have to achieve each time you attend the gym, just work to your abilities each time, you will know when it does not feel right to continue so listen to your body as no-one is at their peak every time they workout.

Fitness training everyday can be punishing for the muscles and does not allow them to heal and grow so try to leave a day between workouts. The best exercises you can perform at the gym are those that will help your heart, lungs and stamina; called aerobic exercises they can include a whole host of regimes including running, stepping, rowing plus many more, all of which need large amounts of oxygen in the blood.

If you are someone that likes aerobic exercise then you should listen to music if possible as it helps to have a regular beat. Just make sure that you take your headset with you so you won’t disturb people who may prefer not to listen to your music while exercising. Stretching your body is a form of exercise in itself and a pleasant way to relax at the end of a hard day so it is worth doing regularly even if you do not want to workout.

I’m no cop, not a persuasion cop or any other. However, there are times when I feel I have to pause for a moment and remind my students of what is of the utmost importance in persuasion and in life. I am a person who really learns from their mistakes. And I’m hoping that you can too learn from my mistakes. My goal here is to guide. My goal is to help you to avoid the mistakes I made. One of these tough lessons I learned the hard way came about because when I was young, overly eager, and foolish, I acted in a way that wasn’t guided by integrity.

Social influence skills are powerful and it is my sincere hope that as we move forward, we do so with an application towards ethics and integrity.

Ethics and integrity go hand in hand with congruity, and congruity forms a key component. Why? Congruity is like someone making a mistake and being genuinely sorry they made it. Whereas you can really tell the difference between that and someone who says I’m sorry but doesn’t necessarily mean it.

Ethics and integrity allow us to use these kinds of powerful skills and do so with a good clean conscience because we know that we’re using things on others that we’re comfortable having used on ourselves. And as you know, by participating in my program, the importance of integrity is something we constantly discuss. I encourage and promote good uses of ethics and integrity, however, I try to use good ethics and integrity in talking about ethics and integrity and not force them but bring them up, constantly showing why it’s helpful and useful to use them.

My belief is, that without ethics, integrity and congruity, a sales person will never rise above mediocrity.

One of the most valuable perceptions a prospect can have of us as salespeople is trustworthiness. When we’re in line with integrity, there’s no need to fake it.

When I realized this and started living my life, personally and professionally, with total integrity, I experienced rapid results in all facets of life. I began drawing more of what I wanted in my life. I began drawing higher end students who were infinitely trustworthy and eager and ready for the skills I teach whereas some of my prior clients sadly were not of such a high caliber (as in, not trustworthy and lacking integrity).

Having built up that aspect of my personality, having an abundance of integrity in the bank is like having built up my ‘f-you’ money. I absolutely know that I can walk away from any situation which is not comfortable because I no longer “need” to take on just anyone but could be very selective in my processes. Consider the benefits of integrity in that you never have to compromise yourself again. It’s an amazing feeling.

There’s a lot of talk these days about a lagging economy and so forth, if you buy into that type of thing. And whether we’re in a recession or not doesn’t really matter.

As small business owners and entrepreneurs, we can all agree on the fact that being in business for yourself is not a cake walk. If it were, everyone would be doing it.

And as we all know, more businesses fail than succeed, and that’s true in good times and tough times.

As business owners and entrepreneurs, we’re optimist by nature, or at least you should be. But even I can sense a bit of fear in the market and in the business owners I talk with. Many are quite frankly scared and they’re not sure what to do.

Even though so called financial experts may sometimes disagree, the fact remains that credit is not something that is inherently bad. The problem is not the credit itself but rather the improper or uncontrolled use of credit. If you find that you have this problem you should not feel like you are the only one. In fact, the country itself has this problem. When national bills cannot be paid, the country extends credit lines that it has with different financial institutions.

Unfortunately, getting credit card debt advice that is beneficial in real world situations is not easy since many people who offer such advice have rather fanatical ideas. Anyone who suggests that people should not have or use credit cards at all simply is not being realistic. Consider the following tips that are designed to be useful in the real world.

Limit Yourself to Just One

About the best credit card debt advice you can get is if you do not already belong to a credit union then join one. Then go into your credit union and ask them for a credit card with a decent sized limit that you can use but is not outrageous.

The credit union won’t raise your limit without you asking and for the most part a credit union will keep their interest rate at around 10% or less. If you can keep your life to just this one card then you will be fine. If you need an increase then ask for it but try and use cash when you can.

Emergency Back Up

The idea of buying something now and paying for it later is simply too tempting; everyone will make some kind of foolish purchase on their credit card at least once. It is important, though, that you do not allow this to become a habit. Keep your credit card to be used as an emergency back up plan, not the first line of attack.

It gets tempting and every once in a while everyone gives in to the temptation and that is okay as long as you can afford it. But try and keep it under control and only use your credit as a back up if you can.

The amount of new mortgages approved for people looking to buy a home in the UK dropped to just 33,000 in July, adding to fears of an imminent recession.

Figures from the Bank of England (BoE) reveal that the volume of mortgage approvals was reduced by 71 per cent year-on-year to the lowest recorded, as lenders opted not to lend to buyers. The credit crunch has forced mortgage lenders to take stock of the money that they are lending and the new BoE figures are seen by many analysts as another blow for the economy.

Adrian Coles of the Building Societies Association told the BBC: “Activity in the property market is still on the wane and the approvals figures suggest this is likely to go on for some time. Recent falls in property values have been widely publicised, reducing potential buyers’ confidence and keeping them out of the market.”

The collapse by specialist lenders other than banks and building societies, such as those dealing with poor credit mortgages, is also illustrated by the BoE figures. In July 2007, such lenders gave out 32,000 mortgages for house purchase; in July 2008 they lent just 2,000. Meanwhile, mortgage lenders across the UK approved just 7,000 home loans, compared to 24,000 by the major banks.

The Bank also said that mortgage lending rose by 3.231 billion pounds in July, better than predicted but only a third of the increase seen in July 2007.

However, in spite of the decline, building societies have seen that their inflow of cash from savers has maintained its climb, with savings accounts in building societies having a total of 1.435 billion pounds in July, compared to 723 million pounds this time last year.

Released 7 days ago, the latest results from Nationwide found that UK house prices saw an annual double-digit fall for the first time since 1990 - with prices 10.5 per cent lower in August than a year ago. The new BoE figures could increase the pressure on the Bank to chop interest rates in order to help the housing market and the wider economy. However, when the monetary policy committee meets this Thursday (September 4th), it will probably keep interest rates on hold at five per cent in the interim.

Howard Archer, an economist at Global Insight, told Reuters: “Although we are sure the BoE to cut interest rates before the end of the year, we believe it will not change before November when there is likely to be growing evidence that the deepening economic slowdown and more unemployment are diluting underlying inflationary pressures.”

In August, the BoE decided to leave the base rate at five per cent for the fifth consecutive month, after a 0.25 per cent cut in April. As a result of this consumers’ abilities to handle other spending costs - in areas such as personal loans, credit cards and transport costs - did not come under further pressure.

Credit correction is not accomplished overnight and so the order in which you dispute items is very important (especially if you are on a deadline to raise your credit score).

Negative credit listings are not created equal. Some items, such as late payments from a few years ago, usually have a minimal impact on your credit score. Other items like recent judgments or collections can be cold-blooded credit killers.

Here is a complete list of the negative credit items along with how much impact they have on your score.

Public Records/Bankruptcy are the most severe. Public records include tax liens and court judgments. These items are allowed to remain on your credit report for 10 years - as opposed to the seven years limitation rule that applies to other items.

Included in Bankruptcy also falls into the most severe category. If you filed bankruptcy these items are referred to as those discharged in the case. They are just as severe as the bankruptcy listing itself.

A single collection item can lower your score by as much as 100 points overnight. You should dispute any collection error as well as negotiate with the agency for a removal.

Foreclosure/Repossession are likewise very severe. These listings are severely damaging to your score and can keep you from getting the next mortgage or car loan.

A charge off is very severe. You may even have multiple listings on your report for a single charge off since it is bought and reported by third-party collection agencies.

A recent late payment is especially bad for those people with previously good credit. It can instantly lower a credit score that you have spent years to establish. The scoring formula believes that a late payment may be a sign of impending financial meltdown.

You can sometimes convince a creditor to remove a 30, 60, 90, or 120 day late payment. However, make sure that your account is current and in good standing.

The credit scoring formula is biased more towards recent late payments. Older late payments should be given a low priority in your dispute process.

Incorrect Personal Information such as a wrong address or employer is not important. The credit scoring formula does not use this information to generate your score so it is less important compared to the items above.

In order to quickly clean up your credit report, you must challenge the most severe items first. It does no good to focus your time and effort on insignificant items like your employer or address.

I’ve noticed something interesting recently and that is, Americans love to talk. They love to listen to other people talk too (like the television or radio). They get their books on tape. They have the radio tuned to talk shows. . . we’re a people uncomfortable with the sound of silence. This is especially true in conversations. There’s an awkwardness that most people experience when there’s a lull or a bit of space in the conversation and they struggle to fill that void. This can be particularly damaging in sales especially when we’ve almost got our product or service sold, and then muck it up with too much talk.

Filling in the spaces is the inane chatter. We are surely familiar with the cliche sales persona, someone who look at the photographs on the wall or desk of their prospect, asking how the wife and kids or husband and kids are, how the golf game is — also known as, chit chat. Even more detrimental to sales, is the chit chat that happens after the sale is in the bag, but not signed off on. This is the stuff that breaks the deal because maybe we’re excited about having made the sale and we begin to blather on and on. .

One of my personal breakthroughs, and a big one, happened for me when I realized that I didn’t have to spend a whole lot of time in that chit chat mode. When I was just a kid starting out in sales, I can’t even count the number of times I totally destroyed the sale by being too talkative. I was consistently derailing my chances. And the more I saw the sale derailing, the more I would talk, nervously, in an attempt to regain the footing I had lost.

If a prospect or client was looking for a way out, I would give it to them eventually if I chattered on too long. I kept wondering why they didn’t want to be more like my friend, why they didn’t want to talk about more personal, day-to-day stuff. I can tell you the reason this is the case is because they weren’t getting the answer to a burning question within them.

I realize I have been blessed with the gift of gab. The shift in my thinking came when I realized I had to fashion what I was saying to focus intently on the prospect and their needs and not my own agenda.

So what is the burning question? The question is, “What can you do for me, Kenrick?” Our prospects are ultimately wanting to know, “What’s in this for me? What is it that you’re going to do to help me?” The only way to find the answers to these questions is to elicit their criteria and once you’ve elicited their criteria, then we have to get to the meaning.

Criteria and its meaning have got to be the foremost thing in your mind when making a sale, no ifs, ands or buts. Remember this, and you won’t be derailed.
